Bay South Gardens at Gardens by the Bay Opens on June 29

The much-anticipated opening of Gardens by the Bay has been slated for two weekends from June 29 to July 8. The Bay South gardens, one of three that make up the Gardens by the Bay, will open its doors and attractions including metal supertrees lined by an aerial walkway, two cooled conservatories/domes and a dragonfly lake, a promenade featuring the history and culture of Singapore's ethnic diversity. The cooled conservatories will house numerous species of exotic plants from different continents and fragile habitats. Another noteworthy attraction is the Cloud Forest that features a mountain laced with exotic plants and a 30-metre waterfall.

To celebrate the opening, events such as live concerts will be held in conjunction with the opening of six restaurants.

Entry to the gardens will be free, with fees levied only for entry to the conservatories and the aerial walkway that lines the supertrees. Locals pay reduced charges ranging from $8-$20. The fees for foreigners will range from $15-$28.
