Cable Car Rides Between Mount Faber and Sentosa Reopened

Cable CarAfter a nine-month hiatus, cable car rides to Sentosa island have resumed operation from Mount Faber's hilltop station. At its peak, the previous cable car system ferried 1.65 million people annually. Now, after a $36 million revamp, the cable cars are larger and boast better all-round views. The rides are also faster and smoother.

Each cable car can now accommodate 8 riders and it is a 13 minute one-way ride. Riders will be 120m above sea level, 30m higher than before the revamp. The windows that now wrap around the cabin will allow for an improved view of the scenery. The cable cars are now wheelchair- and pram-friendly as well. Riders can also benefit from an interactive touchscreen that screens a safety video and other information.

For those looking to splurge on luxury, there is a VIP cabin laced with Swarovski crystals with a bottle of champagne included. A VIP ticket costs a whopping S$888, with half of it to be donated to charity.
