Pick The Right Spots For The Youth Olympic Games 2010

The 12-day period from 14 to 26 August will see Singapore host the inaugural Youth Olympic Games 2010. Youths from all over the world will compete in 26 sports across 18 venues island-wide. For the discerning spectator, picking and choosing the right places with the best sporting action, atmosphere and great views will be a priority.

1) Be a part of the opening ceremony at The Float@Marina Bay. Apart from the action and youthful exuberence, soak in the sight of the city skyline, including the newly opened Marina Bay Sands integrated resort.

2) Get up close with the basketball action at *SCAPE in downtown Orchard Road. This is also the new venue of the 987Fm radio station, so do take the opportunity to walk into the studio and make song dedications to loved ones and friends.

3) Head down to the Marina Reservoir for some rowing, canoeing and kayaking action. The newly opened Gardens by the Bay park by the side of the reservoir is an excellent vantage point. The view of the city skyline from the Marina Barrage is quite something, so do bring along a camera for panoramic shots.

4) Engage in activities from cycling, canoeing, cable-ski to jogging at East Coast Park, Singapore's most popular beach and park. Be a part of the triathlon action as well, with all 3 segments of the race to be held at East Coast Park.

Do visit the official Youth Olympic Games website for more details on the inaugural games!
