This year's Chingay Parade will be held on 19 and 20 February, a friday and saturday. Spectators can now purchase tickets to the parade at the pit stop building next to the Singapore Flyer.

The end of January will see the opening of Resorts World Sentosa (RWS), the first of two Integrated Resorts that will begin operating this year. Alas, RWS will open in phases, with the first seeing the opening of 4 of 6 intended hotels and 10 restaurants in the last week of January 2010. The Universal Studios Theme Park and the casino is expected to open within the near future.  

There are 2 Integrated Resorts slated to open within the next 2 years or so. The 1st is the Marina Bay Sands Casino, developed by Las Vegas Sands, that was initially slated to open at the end of 2009. However, due to material and labour shortages coupled with the year-end rainy monsoon season, the project is now only scheduled to open in April 2010. Singapore's other IR, Resorts world Sentosa developed by Malaysia's Genting Conglomerate, is slated to open in the 1st quarter of 2010.

The Orchard Road Business Association has recently launched a complimentary shuttle service that plys 11 stops along the prime Orchard Road shopping belt. The service is called the Great Trolley, with black and white shuttles.

The idea behind this initiative is to link the major shopping malls in the precinct. The service will continue running till February 2010, where if deemed useful and well-frequented, the Association will continue operating the service.

The 1st of 2 Integrated Resorts (IRs) is set for a highly-anticipated opening as soon as late March next year. Las Vegas Sands Corporation is looking to open the IR in different phases. The 1st of which will include up to 1000 hotel rooms, the casino and some portions of retail and convention spaces.

Visitors are one step closer to visiting Southeast Asia's first and only Universal Studios theme park opening at Sentosa's Resorts World, now that ticket prices have been revealed.
