Chomp Chomp Food Centre

Located in a residential area known as Serangoon Gardens, Chomp Chomp is yet another place where you'll find great local food, though amidst a noisy and bustling atmosphere. The downside is that to get here by public transport is a pain. Most choose to take a taxi direct, cutting down significantly on travelling time. This hawker centre is best frequented for dinner. It is recommended that you choose a timbre table facing the road where it is much cooler than the food centre's interior.

Well-known Food

The barbequed food here is simply delicious. It is a must to order a BBQ stingray (usually eaten with lots of sambal chilli) and BBQ chicken wings. Stall 1 and 3 sell these respective food items. BBQ stingray is cooked on banana leaves and served with sliced shallots, sambal chilli, garlice and most importantly, lime. Squeezing the lime over the meat makes for an exquisite mix and it very delicious.

The satay at Chomp Chomp is really good as well. Satay is skewered meat cooked over charcoal. It is served with cucumbers, onions, and peanut paste. Dipping the meat into the paste complements the food excellently. Also specify if you want ketupat served together (compressed rice wrapped in palm leaves).

A stall that has persistently long queues is the Hokkien Fried Prawn Mee stall. This is a fried dish consisting of yellow and white noodles cooked with prawns, egg, meat pieces and beansprouts.
