Chek Jawa Wetlands

Getting there, what to see, food

Nestled on the eastern most tip of Pulau Ubin is Chek Jawa, a unique coastal habitat. You will find mangroves, sandy beaches, coastal forests and lagoons all packed within 1 square kilometre. It is most common for locals and tourists to rent a bicycle on Pulau Ubin and subsequently bike towards Chek Jawa.

Chek Jawa is home to an exquisite variety of plants and wildlife, some of which are endangered and extremely rare. There are boardwalks all along this coastal habitat, so be sure to stay on them for safety purposes and also to conserve the precious environment. It is advisable for visitors to make a trip to Chek Jawa during low tide, as there is so much more to view.

There are special guided tours around Chek Jawa only on certain days every month, so be sure to book way in advance to secure a slot. To book, please visit the NParks site.
