Chingay Parade – Feb 2020
This annual street parade is part of the Chinese New Year festivities. The Chingay Parade is a massive cultural display telecast live on television internationally. Since 1990, it has become an evening to night parade in which lights and pyrotechnics dominate. We’re still not sure what the theme will be next year, but expect cracking performances, energetic dances and hugely entertaining international acts!
Mosaic Music Festival (March 2020)
Held at the Esplanade Concert Hall annually, this 10-day music extravaganza features jazz, indie-pop and world music acts from around the globe. Either purchase tickets to attend your choice concert, or simply drop by the Esplanade and enjoy the free outdoor performances every evening during the festival period.
Great Singapore Sale (21 June 2019 to 28 July 2019)
The main reason why Singapore remains the top shopping destination in Asia! Enormous discounts and deals at all retail outlets in Singapore attract throngs of shoppers daily. Expect great bargains on your favourite luxury goods, tourist attractions and even spa and beauty treatments! Orchard Road remains as the main destination for everyone, as it is the most well-known shopping destination in Singapore.
Singapore Arts Festival (TBA – January 2020)
This month long event just gets bigger and bigger every year. What was once a festival promoting local acts has now grown to become an international event featuring more than 2500 artists from 26 countries! The festival seeks to present the best in artistic developments around the world ranging from the classics to the highly experimental or avant-garde. Be sure to book tickets to your favourite performances beforehand!
Singapore River Festival (TBA 2020)
Centred along the Singapore River, be sure to catch the bumboat parades, live music and even aerial shows. In addition, the Dragon Boat festival takes place from 18-20 June, so you could also catch glimpses of dragon boat racing along the Singapore River.
Singapore Food Festival (12 to 28 July 2019)
Tuck into delicacies and cuisines from all over the globe in this month-long festival that celebrates the culinary spirit. Be cure to drop by the participating areas that include Parco Bugis Junction, Chinatown, East Coast Seafood Centre, Suntec Square and Civic Plaza of Ngee Ann City. Entrance is free, thus the only pre-requisite is an empty stomach ready for an evening of indulgence!
Singapore F1 Grand Prix (19 to 23 September 2019)
For the fourth year, Singapore will continue to host F1’s first street and night race in Asia. In addition to the main race, there will be numerous activities and complimentary events taking place in and around the Marina Bay circuit. Thus, the Grand Prix season is one of the most vibrant times of the year to visit Singapore!
Singapore Sun Festival (One week spanning from October to November)
This annual music and lifestyle festival takes place at multiple venues and include seven disciplines: music, visual art, wine, cuisine, film, literature and wellness. Approximately 250 international and local artists including musicians, literary figures, yoga and tai chi instructors, chefs and wine makers, film directors, actors and painters will perform and engage the public at historical and symbolic venues all round Singapore.
Christmas Light-Up (Late November-Early January)
Shopping malls put up their best festive decorations in anticipation of Christmas and the New Year. The iconic Orchard Road will be magnificently lit-up and decorated annually, which is an attraction in itself. Crowds will take to the street just to soak in the festive atmosphere after dusk when the lights come alive!
